    Most of the new graduates from teacher education courses in WA
    WANT to teach in Perth. Most are doomed to disappointment, as
    the Education Department only recruits a small proportion each
    year. You have an advantage in that you are experienced, but
    people who want to teach in Perth are a dime a dozen.

    You might have more of a chance if you were prepared to "go bush"
    for a couple of years; You might also try the non-government
    schools sector. If I were looking for a primary teaching job as
    a lever to come to Australia, I would be looking "bush" in New
    South Wales, Northern Territory , Western Australia or South
    Australia. These are not easy "gigs", which is why there are
    opportunities for those who are willing to give them a try, and
    certainly don't fit with the lifestyle attractions you have
